Screen Time - Media Time Manager App Reviews

Tried to use this for simply monitoring daily IPad time. There is no automated time log option - and like another reviewer wrote - it is too easy to bypass the system. Moreover it is too easy to forget to start the timer or change user accounts when the device gets passed on. Also encountered technical problems with hangups under iOS 8. Not worth the money. Nice try though.

Not at all what I imagined. If youre looking for ways to manage iPad use for your kids, keep looking. And if you find something, please share.

Application just shows a message when time is up, which your child can simply ignore. Nothing locks out. The games they are playing keep right on going. Completely useless.

Weve always tried to set reasonable limits on the amount of screen time our children get. This app has made it so much easier to manage it and stay consistent. We give our kids a weekly screen time allowance, and its easy to add or subtract time based on their behavior. And, if your kids are anything like our kids, they love their gaming time, so the incentive works pretty well. Allowing them to trade in saved up screen time for rewards is not something we had done in the past, but it has provided us a new opportunity to positively influence the way they spend their time. I see some complaints that it doesnt lock the device when time expires. Yes, thats true. It also doesnt lock the Xbox or Playstation. Its not a replacement parent, its a parenting tool. You, as the parent, still have to be involved in the management and enforcement. This app just makes it so much easier for us and our kids to be on the same page. We are really happy with it!

This appliation if very missleading. It is really nothing more than a stopwatch. I did not find it helpful with tracking screen time. For the 2.99 price is was a big let down. I thought you could control your kids devices from one central location like the parent IPhone or IPad. This is not the case. Each device needs to be configured individually.

If the developers were being honest, they would include the info that they DO include on their website stating that this app DOES NOT limit screen time. But they didnt. Why? They would sell less 10% of the apps than they do today. This app is a glorified timer and nothing more. If you need to spend $2.99 to use a timer that already exist on your phone, go for it. I suppose there are parents out there that have kids they can use this with, kids who will report their time is up. I suspect these parents dont need an app to limit screen time. For those of us who dont have those kids and who really need to have a device lock after a time limit this a complete failure.

I took a chance and spent the $2.99- lesson learned. It is not a poorly designed app, It is just not what I needed. This app is designed for someone whos kids use their device. NOT if you have a child with a separate device. The timer must be started by the user. Needless to say, I will be deleting.

This app is absolutely useless and did not help me with my screen time in any way. The parental controls for the app come unlocked every time you turn off your phone. Dont waste your time with this app

Why does this cost money?? Does nothing more than a stop watch. And company doesnt respond to emails asking how to even use the app (thought I was missing something). Dont bother.

I love this app. I dont need it to shut itself off. I want to be able to track my kids device time so they still use your time wisely and be a kid! Well done.

Great tool to keep track of your kids "screen time" for their device. I like how you can see how much time theyve been on the device. The reward system is good - Its a great way to encourage my kid to keep up on his choirs to get more screen time. Simple and easy to use app.

This app is useless. It cannot lock the screen of the device. Its useless for parents to keep track of the kids usage of the device.

Pathetic as it is, my husband and I are using this app to monitor each others phone use so we act like humans and not phone addicted zombies. But the timer continues even when the phone is off which means we have to turn it on and off every time we turn the phone off and on. Not helpful when youre trying to prevent those 100 "quick" Facebook checks. Please tweak if possible! The only other option is self control and Im GenX so we know thats not gonna happen! Also, love love the app overall just want this one feature please.
